Thank you for noticing me !
When yet a teenager I lived in Richmond on Thames '69-'72ish , and by that good fortune frequented L Auberge - spelling?. I actually really wanted to live in Twickenham but could not find a place there. Ok I admit it, I came from the south coast searching for fame and fortune as a poet / wise guy, but failed to find the poet's muse and settled for tall teas made by Andy.
Introduced to Eel Pie by my then best friend Carol ( known here as Carol G) I soon discovered Eel Pie rock and roll as well as the odd good bottle of plonk. Into vintage mortorcyles and music I never did manage to try anything else.
But I did meet lots of the characters found in these pages even though they probably don't remember me.
Seamus (RIP) would have probably recalled the dark haired idiot riding around town on a beaten up '50s sidecar bike. Lots of other folks around town did know me but they were not in the commune.
Mention of which, I used love the concerts and such and the people there. Very welcoming and warm.
I think I was somewhat gone from the area by the time the Grosvenor thing got going, but I must say that when I came back - Teddington - a while later, Grosvenor was up and running, but I never heard anything about it so did not see it. I am sure I would have loved the music.
But being a bit of a tramp I remained your average globe trotting fool, and since I have been in more climates that Tiger Woods, but not playing golf. Instead I try to make music on such things as penny whistles, banjos and the like.
I worked in Twickenham for quite some time so I was surely seen daily trudging to and from my job on the main drag there.
Lived in England/Wales/Ireland - before it got ruined with tourists and Euros - France, all over the Americas ... groan...
I am really old as well but most of my friends ignore my age as they are the most of them even older.
Hi to Carol G if you feel like swapping life stories hit me up.. my email is on this board someplace.. I suppose you'd have to join to do that?
More id stuff I was going to post my picture here but having been ripped off for a couple of gees on Facebook I am really nervous of sharing in public, but will share my pic over private emails.
Thank you for your patience and understanding
